Individual Subject Requirements
Welcome to the HASJW 6th Form course offering for entry in September. Students are able to choose from a wide range of A Level and BTEC courses (which will run subject to minimum numbers).
All students are required to study three courses (A Level/BTEC) with the following exceptions:
- Exceptional candidates (GCSE grade average of 8) are permitted to study 4 A Levels
- Students who wish to take Further Mathematics as a 4th A Level (in addition to A Level Mathematics) must achieve a grade 8 in GCSE Mathematics
- Students who wish to take a Language as a 4th A Level must speak the language at home (Arabic, Persian, French, Spanish) and have achieved a grade 8+ in the related GCSE (or pass an entry test).
We strongly advise all students to pick 3 subjects and maximise their grades in these qualifications.

Extended Project Qualification
In addition to A Level and BTEC courses there will be the opportunity for students to participate in the EPQ. The EPQ requires students to create a single piece of work, requiring a high degree of planning, preparation and autonomous working. The projects that students complete will differ by subject, but all will require persistence over time and research skills to explore a subject independently in real depth. An increasing number of universities are including the EPQ in their offers to students.
