GCSE success at Harris Academy St John’s Wood with great results across the board and half of students achieving the demanding Ebacc.
Students at Harris Academy St John’s Wood are today celebrating their GCSE results with a strong performance across the board.
57% of students achieved a strong pass (grade 5) or above in both English and maths, higher than the national rate of 43%. Half of students achieved at least a Grade 4 in their Ebacc subjects which is far higher than the national average, 25%.
Amongst those celebrating were Rishikesh and Phil who each achieved a ‘super’ Grade 9 in ten subjects. Very few students across the country will achieve this number of Grade 9s, which are the equivalent of an A**.
Samantha Green, Principal of the Academy said:
“I’d like to congratulate all our students celebrating today. There are some magnificent individual performances as well as excellent overall figures.”
“We look forward to welcoming these students back to Harris St John’s Wood in September to begin their Sixth Form studies and to replicate the excellent A Level performances we enjoyed last week”.

- A Level cohort: Best 3 A Levels and AAB including at least 2 facilitating subjects (These are biology, chemistry, English, geography, history, maths, modern and classical languages and physics)
- Retention and destinations measures

Samantha Green, Principal of the Academy said:
“I am very proud of our Year 13 pupils who worked extremely hard to secure some brilliant grades. With these they will go on to some of the best universities in the country. This is the very least these young people deserve after what has been a very challenging period of time for young people.
“I’m grateful to staff across the school who have supported them so well over their time in the Sixth Form. Everyone in the school is smiling today as we share our students’ delight at their results.”
Given the uneven impact of the pandemic on school and college performance data, the government has said you should not make direct comparisons between the performance data for one school or college and another, or to data from previous years.
