KS3 Assessments
The Year 7 and year 9 assessment point two takes place in May. This will include some in class assessments the week beginning 4th of May for Drama, Modern Foreign Languages and Computing followed by written assessments in all subjects across the week beginning 8th of May.
Year 8 assessment point two will take place across the weeks starting the 1st and 8th of June after the May half-term.
Please see below an electronic version of a booklet which has also been given to students.
The booklet includes:
- A full exam timetable
- Topic lists for each subject
- Weekly revision tasks for the next four weeks
- A list of key vocabulary students should learn
We encourage students to complete the weekly revision tasks and use the checklist provided to track their progress. Teachers may ask students to show evidence of completed tasks during lessons.
To support your child at home:
- Help them plan when to complete their revision tasks
- Check in regularly on their progress
- Use the ‘Read-Cover-Write-Repeat’ strategy outlined in the booklet to reinforce key terms and concepts
The aim of this booklet is to build confidence and promote independent study habits. Research shows that regular, spaced revision is far more effective than last-minute cramming.
If you have any questions about the assessment period, please contact your child’s tutor.
